To provide commercial support to The Company through end to end management of the procurement process for IT Professional Services within Information Systems for high risk, high value procurement activity.
This role will involve ownership of the Global category for IT professional Services within the UK and ownership of local categories for customer management systems, Customer Relationship Management systems and billing systems.
Essence of Role – Key Accountabilities
1. Liaise with the PC (Procurement Company) Category manager for categories where a Global category plan is applicable. Ensure UK Operating companies views and requirements are understood during the strategy development and represent the UK Operating Company in any subsequent negotiations. Where regional opportunities exist, lead or liaise with Ireland to develop a procurement strategy and deliver against the strategy.
2. Where a local category plan is applicable, develop a local procurement strategy (local category plan) with internal stakeholders which seeks out business opportunities, capitalises on current market conditions and challenges business requirements. Lead supplier selection and negotiations
3. Manage the procurement process for key projects, ensuring the selection of suppliers with the capability to meet our needs, high service standards, efficient executions and competitive rates.
4. Lead complex commercial reviews and negotiations (including outsourcing deals) to identify and deliver:
• Improved standards of performance and contribution from suppliers
• Efficiency improvements
• Appropriate remuneration models achieving an effective alignment of competitive fees and incentives for exceptional performance against targets.
• Cost savings opportunities and total cost of ownership
• Incremental value-add from the leading suppliers
5. Identify and deliver commercial best practices and synergy benefits through effective collaboration with peers in other Operating Companies, and Global Supply Chain
6. Ensure the appropriate use of innovative and alternative procurement methods across the range of requirements using e-business tools as required
7. Lead the bi-annual Supplier Performance Measurement reviews, including stakeholders to drive improved performance, efficiency and contribution from the relationship. Create, agree and deliver continuous improvement and governance plans.
8. Drive SCM engagement with stakeholders to move towards a business partner role and heighten the profile of SCM
9. Manage relationship and stakeholder relations at all levels including senior stakeholders. Influence, challenge and drive change to add incremental value.
10. Vendor management and strategic relationship management for local suppliers
