Key Accountabilities

  1. Liaise with the Category manager for categories where a Global category plan is applicable. Ensure Opco’s views and requirements are understood during the strategy development and represent the Opco in any subsequent negotiations. Where regional opportunities exist, lead or liaise with Ireland to develop a procurement strategy and deliver against the strategy.
  2. Where a local category plan is applicable, develop a local procurement strategy (local category plan) with internal stakeholders which seeks out business opportunities, capitalises on current market conditions and challenges business requirements. Lead supplier selection and negotiations
  3. Lead a small team, being responsible for their delivery to customers, reviewing their category plans, setting their objectives and cost saving targets. Mentor, develop and performance manage the team. Deputise for Senior Manager when appropriate and represent team at SCM regional review meetings.
  4. Manage the procurement process for key projects, ensuring the selection of suppliers with the capability to meet our needs, high service standards, efficient executions and competitive rates.
  5. Lead complex commercial reviews and negotiations (including outsourcing deals) to identify and deliver:
    • Improved standards of performance and contribution from suppliers
    • Efficiency improvements
    • Appropriate remuneration models achieving an effective alignment of competitive fees and incentives for exceptional performance against targets.
    • Cost savings opportunities and total cost of ownership
    • Incremental value-add from the leading suppliers
  6. Identify and deliver commercial best practices and synergy benefits through effective collaboration with peers in other Operating Companies, and Global Supply Chain
  7. Ensure the appropriate use of innovative and alternative procurement methods across the range of requirements using e-business tools as required
  8. Lead the bi-annual Supplier Performance Measurement reviews, including stakeholders to drive improved performance, efficiency and contribution from the relationship. Create, agree and deliver continuous improvement and governance plans.
  9. Drive SCM engagement with customers to move towards a business partner role and heighten the profile of SCM
  10. Manage relationship and stakeholder relations at all levels including senior stakeholders. Influence, challenge and drive change to add incremental value.
  11. Vendor management and strategic relationship management for local suppliers


 

Professional Expertise

  • Ideally 7 years procurement experience in a multinational context
  • Ideally 5 years procurement experience within category
  • Experienced contracts negotiator able to lead complex high value negotiations
  • Ideally CIPS qualified
  • Proficient knowledge of contract law
  • Proficient financial analysis skills, understands financial modelling, total cost of ownership and cost drivers
  • Experienced in strategic sourcing and supplier management
  • Breadth and depth of experience of multiple categories
