Key Accountabilities:

  1. Provide a full Supply Chain Management service for our Client’s UK functional business units as required by SCM senior management.
  2. Accountable for producing internal Customer Account and Delivery Plans for assigned functional business area(s) - the role may cover more than one internal customer / business area but will focus primarily on Consultancy and HR services.
  3. Accountable for the management of key stakeholders within the business; must have the ability to influence and communicate at UK Board level, and have the ability to resolve any conflicting issues in a timely fashion.
  4. Be accountable for the full management of a material / service category (Consultancy and HR services) – undertaking regular category planning activities and identifying opportunities to reduce cost / add value to the business. Ability to analyse the market place and track trends.
  5. To manage and establish effective working relationships with external third parties and internal departments when delivering key business systems solutions, identifying key requirements, issues, and appropriate solutions.
  6. Manage key suppliers; Develop effective working relationships; Manage supplier performance; Define and implement supplier improvement plans; Mitigate the risk of any supply issues to our Client. Ability to understand supplier roadmaps and influence where possible.
  7. Develop and maintain strong relationships / customer engagement with assigned business area – ensure that all customers’ commercial requirements are met in a timely manner. Delegate through effective objective setting where necessary.
  8. Provide commercial and legal support to internal customers. Able to negotiate and draft contractual agreements, with a good understanding of terms and conditions (legal support is available for more complex agreements)
  9. Develop, drive and deliver commercial strategies across the business to realise a least cost position for our Client directly impacting the company’s profitability in the UK market. Strong negotiation skills required.
  10. Identify and deliver commercial best practices and synergy benefits through effective collaboration with peers in other of the Client’s Operating Companies and the company Global Supply Chain.
  11. Ensure the appropriate use of alternative and innovative procurement methods within the assigned business area across the range of requirements – be versed in e-procurement tools and techniques.
  12. Encourage continuous improvement within SCM with the ability to influence and deliver change. Ability to write and implement work processes change, identify innovative solutions and anticipate future business changes.

 

Professional/Technical Expertise

  • 5 - 7 years procurement experience in a blue chip environment.
  • Category expert for Consultancy and HR Services.
  • Knowledge of SCM self service technology (for example SAP, Oracle etc) and back office related systems
  • In depth supply market knowledge – recognised as a commercial industry expert in Consultancy/HR Services
  • Excellent relationship/stakeholder manager skills – both internal customer and supplier facing
  • Experienced contract and commercial negotiator
  • Proficient knowledge of contract law and in depth knowledge of legal issues specific to their area of work
  • Good business degree (or related alternative) and CIPS qualified.
  • Experienced in contract management.
  • Good financial analysis skills – able to analyse complex data and carry out risk assessments
  • Expert negotiator – able to lead complex high value/global negotiations and devise/advise upon negotiation strategies
  • Good project management and organisational skills
  • Good leadership skills, ability to motivate in a cross project environment
